The Estrogen Dilemma
There was a terrific article in The New York Times Magazine this past Sunday about estrogen and menopause written by Cynthia Gorney. It’s well worth reading and sharing. Here is a link to the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/18/magazine/18estrogen-t.html

The Menopause Journey & Journal Begins...
I’m a doctor. A gynecologist, to be specific. My specialty and passion is helping women manage the menopause transition. Mostly women over 40. Women like me.
In my practice, I can only help a limited number of patients each day. But now, with this new blog, I’ll be able to help more women. Hopefully, that includes you.
Quite simply, I want to share information with you that will help you live a healthier, happier life. And the first piece of information I want to share is about me…
I started experiencing hot flashes, night sweats and interrupted sleep at the age of 44. Luckily, I knew what was going on and what to do about it. Yet too many women don’t …
• they don’t have access to a specialist, or…
• they’re confused by the misinformation they see online, in advertising or on the news, or…
• they know how to stay healthy, but they need some gentle reminders to stay on course, or…
• they don’t have time to keep up with all the news on healthFurther, too many women struggle at midlife – with physical, emotional and personal issues. Yet these should be the best years of our lives. We have the knowledge and experience to really understand what is important in life – and should have the vitality to live it fully.
So I hope I can help these women – and help you too.
Let me share some News and Views with you.
I hope you’ll join me on this journey — and together we’ll enjoy greater health and happiness.
Will you travel with me? I hope you will. (Click on the “subscribe” button above if you’re interested.)
Until we meet again …
Be well,
Tara Allmen, MD
